Synopsis

Wildlife have a remarkable sanctuary, reserve, and refuge in the Galápagos Islands, Ecuador’s national park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, but their sanctuary has been continually under threat. By “sanctuary” I mean a relatively safe haven, including a naturally or officially protected space, but not a facility where animals are brought to live and be protected for the rest of their lives. My documentary short alludes to several human-related threats to wildlife in the Galápagos, including climate change/El Niño, the presence of humans, including myself, as well as poaching/commercial fishing, without making us its central focus.
